OVERVIEW

Distinctive Features: Indoor, Outdoor, Corporate, Waterfront, Museum, Unique

The collections at the Dossin Great Lakes Museum encompass 300+ years of Great Lakes maritime history. This venue is nestled on the shores of Detroit’s historic Belle Isle, one of America’s grandest city parks. Guests will enjoy panoramic views of the Detroit River and Canadian shoreline. One of its most unique features is its Gothic Room, originally a luxurious lounge on the City of Detroit III Great Lakes steamer. In addition to the Gothic Room, indoor spaces include DeRoy Hall, and the main exhibition gallery, and can accommodate up to 400 guests for a strolling event. Outdoor spaces are also available, including a soon-to-be-built waterfront patio.

Venue Tip

Ahoy, maritime buffs! Guests at your event get a glimpse of what it’s like to captain Henry Ford’s iron ore transport freighter, the S.S. William Clay Ford, now permanently perched inside the Dossin Museum at the edge of the Detroit River.
